Keir Hardie bust goes on display in Glasgow

A bust of Keir Hardie, one of the founders of the Labour Party, went on display yesterday at the People’s Palace, in Glasgow Green, Glasgow.

The sculpture, made by Estonian Benno Schotz in 1939, was unveiled to mark the centenary of Hardie’s death. Jimmy Miller, pictured, of the Keir Hardie Society placed a rosette from the society on the bust. Hardie, born in Lanarkshire in 1856 started his working life in coal mines, aged ten.
