Girl, 8, injured after being hit by a bus in Wishaw

AN eight-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus.

The girl was hit as she crossed Main Street, near to Belhaven Terrace, in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, at about 5.35pm yesterday.

She was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where she is in a serious condition.

The driver and passengers on the single-decker bus were uninjured.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
