Collagen Solutions wins medical research supply deal

Life sciences firm Collagen Solutions has won a deal to supply its products for the medical research market.

Under the deal, which runs for an initial three-year period and then on an annual rolling basis, the Glasgow-based company will supply BBI Solutions with medical-grade materials for its customers’ research, pre-clinical and clinical development programmes.

BBI Solutions chief executive Lyn Rees said: “By working alongside the team at Collagen Solutions we can build on our expertise and reputation for supplying critical biological products into regulated markets.

“Our developing customer base in the advanced cellular and regenerative medicine markets are increasingly looking for collagen compounds. As a result, it was important for us to find a partner who can supply the high grade collagen they require consistently.”

Stewart White, chief executive of Collagen Solutions, added: “BBI has a renowned reputation for their knowledge in the reagent supply, diagnostics and development space and are therefore an excellent partner. We are very pleased to be working with Lyn and the team in Cardiff.”

Collagen said earlier this year that it was confident of building its market valuation to £100 million within the next five years after seeing its annual sales soar.
