Aggreko names new boss for rental solutions arm

The Glasgow-based group said company veteran Bruce Pool will succeed Asterios Satrazemis at the helm of the unit, which operates in developed markets serving industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, mining and events including the London Olympics and Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Satrazemis, previously regional director for Americas at Aggreko, has been with the firm for eight years and became president of rental solutions following an overhaul of the company’s structure in June.

He will step down from the board on 17 December to take up the role of chief executive of BlueLine Rental, a provider of small-to-medium sized construction rental equipment in North America.

Pool has been with Aggreko for 17 years in a range of roles, including three years running its northern European business, and was most recently in charge of North America, the largest business unit within the rental solutions division.

Chief executive Chris Weston said: “I want to thank Asterios for his considerable contribution to Aggreko over the last eight years and for the support that he has given me since I joined the company earlier this year. We understand his desire to seek a fresh challenge and on behalf of the board and the group as a whole, I would like to wish him every success in his new role.”

Aggreko last month told investors that it was confident of delivering a pre-tax profit of between £250 million and £270m for 2015 – although this would be down from the figure of £289m reported for the previous year.
