Former Deloitte senior partner Ian Steele joins STV

Ian Steele, the former senior partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland at accounting giant Deloitte, is to join the board of STV.

Steele, who recently joined the council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, is due to take up his post as non-executive director at the start of next week, the Glasgow-based broadcaster said today.

STV chairman Margaret Ford said: “He will bring considerable experience and insight as we continue to support the pursuit of a successful growth strategy and the creation of value for our shareholders. I look forward to working with him.”

Steele has more than three decades’ experience in corporate finance and the corporate advisory sector, and spent 16 years at Deloitte, taking up the position of senior partner in 2010 before retiring earlier this year.
