Watermans Accident Claims & Care has teamed up with Lauren Riley – a qualified lawyer who appeared on the reality show last year – in her venture, dubbed The Link App.

The app gives users live updates of how their claim is being handled and offers a direct line of communication to their solicitor or claim handler.

Riley, who made it through to week seven of last year’s Apprentice, said: “Law was a profession that used to have a reputation for being stuffy and reluctant to change, but the internet, tablets and smartphones are changing the way everyone does business and the best law firms are adapting quickly.

“Watermans are very enterprising and it was clear they had a real appetite to try something new, so I’m especially pleased The Link App will now be available in Scotland through them.”

Watermans managing director Scott Whyte added: “This innovative approach will allow our team to handle cases more efficiently, giving us more time to devote to getting the best possible result for clients.”

The law firm, which launched in 1999 and employs 31 people, has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
