Hit and run victim ‘had been at family funeral’
Alec Wallace, 57, from Livingston was killed after being hit on Comiston Road at Buckstone Terrace at around 8pm on Thursday.
It is understood he fell into the road and was hit by a small, dark vehicle which failed to stop.

Hide AdEmergency services were contacted after Mr Wallace, who had just left the wake at the nearby Charwood pub, was found by a member of the public.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but died a short time later.
Police said over the weekend the driver involved may not have realised they had hit Mr Wallace.
Chief Inspector James Jones said: “Our investigations have shown that it is possible that the driver of the vehicle may not have been immediately aware they had struck a person.

Mr Wallace is understood to have worked as a barman in Gorgie’s Stratford Bar for many years. He is said to have been at the funeral of a family member at Mortonhall Crematorium and was leaving the wake at The Charwood when he was knocked down.
