US fast food giant Wingstop announce opening date of new shop in major retail park
Final renovations are under way
A major American chicken restaurant has revealed the opening date for its new Scottish store.
Staff at the restaurant chain Wingstop are preparing to open their doors at Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline on February 9.
At the end of last year, the American chain, who are known for their Texas-style chicken, agreed to a new 15-year lease for the 3,250-square-foot unit.
The new store is expected to bring between 40 and 50 new jobs.
It will now join Nandos, KFC, Tim Hortons, McDonalds, the Odeon cinema and Hollywood Bowl at the site.

Initially opening in Edinburgh's St James Quarter in 2021 as the first Scottish store, the chain has now grown to six locations across Edinburgh, Livingston, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

Wingstop will be the third restaurant to occupy the building in three years, after the closure of Bella Italia and then Christie's.

John Menzies, director in the retail team at Savills Scotland, said: “Wingstop UKI is a great addition to Fife Leisure Park.
"Dunfermline remains one of Scotland’s most exciting destinations, with a growing population and a significant new residential development pipeline that will create further footfall and a new pool of visitors for the scheme."
