Did E.T. spend Halloween in Edinburgh?

E.T. ‘mon home! This snap was taken over the Halloween weekend in Edinburgh, and there’s something a bit familiar about that cyclist and what’s in his basket.

The late-night cyclist - wearing a red hooded top - bears more than a passing resemblance to Elliott Taylor, and whatever that is in the bike basket looks a lot like E.T.

The snap was sent in by an ambulance team returning home after finishing a shift.

One of the paramedics on board said: “We came across this on our way home...I thought it was brilliant on Halloween morning.”

The image is eerily similar to the scene in the Steven Spielberg film in which Elliott and E.T. escape from the authorities and the bike takes off thanks to the alien’s telekinesis.

Intentional or not, this is one of the best Halloween costumes we’ve seen this year.
