Edinburgh dentist sinks teeth into first practice

An Edinburgh dentist has invested in his first practice after securing a £578,000 loan from Bank of Scotland.

Fraser Callaghan manages a team of seven dental professionals at the Brite Dental clinic, formerly called The ToothBox, in the city’s Gilmerton area.

He said: “Investing in this new practice is a very exciting venture for me. With 25 per cent of the population suffering from dental nervousness, I was keen to take on a business where I could have a strong hand in ensuring people’s needs are put first, creating bespoke solutions for each and every patient.”

The practice is registering an average of 60 new NHS patients a month, compared to four before the relaunch, spearheaded by Callaghan, who bought the clinic through the Brite Dental network that helps dental practitioners looking to invest in their first premises.

Callaghan added: “I’m grateful to Bank of Scotland and the Brite team for its support in helping me acquire my first practice. I now look forward to continually delivering first-class dental care for Edinburgh residents.”
