Edinburgh and Glasgow have named their teams for this Sunday’s opening leg of the 1872 Cup at BT Murrayfield.

The Guinness Pro12 double header will see the capital side defend the trophy against the league champions and their coach Alan Solomons has made just two changes from the starting XV which beat London Irish in the European Challenge Cup last week.

Both changes are in the back three as Jack Cuthbert moves up from the bench to full-back in place of Greig Tonks, while Dougie Fife replaces Damien Hoyland at right wing. Scotland hooker Ross Ford will make his 150th appearance for the club.

With prop Al Dickinson not recovered from a calf injury, Rory Sutherland continues at loosehead, while Scotland lock Ben Toolis could make his return off the bench after being out since September with an elbow injury.

Gregor Townsend has handed former Edinburgh scrum-half Grayson Hart a starting slot against his old club, with Mike Blair missing this week’s game due to a concussion.

Ryan Wilson comes in at blindside flanker for Rob Harley, who has been sidelined for 12 weeks with the thumb injury he picked up at Scarlets last weekend.

Centre Alex Dunbar is still out with a tweaked hamstring.
