Marc Hind and Steven Ramsay are aiming to create an app which will allow users to place and pay for orders in restaurants, pubs and hotels by using unique identifiers on tables and an e-menu built into the app.

If the Buzz It! app becomes reality, the hope is that people will spend less time in queues or waiting on the phone and more time socialising in restaurants or other busy public spaces.

In a statement on the team’s Crowdfunder page, they said: “The business idea is very ambitious but with a lot of hard work it can be accomplished and become a vital component of any business.”

With both men having previous management experience, they are the sole owners of the fledgling business. Even in their short time in operation, the business idea has undergone a handful of adjustments already.

After originally being conceived as a way to order table service at a bar, the business model was redesigned to include a wider array of services such as restaurants and takeaways.

Marc added: “The initial idea came by Steven Ramsay and myself one night in November 2014 while discussing the annoyance of a crowded bar and how long it takes to order.

“After discussions with family and friends about Buzz It!, we received a lot of feedback on our plans.

“One of the main concerns raised were the financial and legal requirements along with the time constraints to get the company established.”

Money donated to the cause will be used to create the website, database and mobile application interface. Only once these are complete will the infrastructure be implemented in bars, restaurants and hotels and other businesses in the local area before a potential nationwide expansion.

In return for their investment, those who donate to the business idea will receive stakes in the business.

Marc added: “Once everything [about the business idea] was written down and established, we carried out a bit of research using friends and family to see if the idea was good, or if we just had rose-coloured glasses.

“From the constructive criticism, we were able to reassure and enthuse friends and family with our business plan”
