Body identified as missing pensioner

Police Scotland report that the search for missing Stranraer man Dennis Brough has been stood down after a body was was recovered on the shoreline at East Tarbet, Mull of Galloway earlier today

The missing Landrover Freelander was located in the sea nearby. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death.

Sergeant Paul Dodds of Police Scotland who was coordinating the search for Mr Brough said: “Extensive searches have been carried out since Friday and sadly today they have ended with the recovery of a body. I would like to thank all those who were involved in the searches for their time and effort and also the public for their assistance in trying to trace Mr Brough.”
