Delays in both directions on M8 after reports of horse on carriageway

Long delays have hit drivers on the M8 motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Reports of a horse on the carriageway have caused lengthy delays for motorists during the morning commute.

The horse has now been removed from the road but there is still congestion in the area.

Traffic was said to be building on both sides of the motorway at junction 5 for Harthill services.
