Auditor Deloitte raises concerns over Rangers

Auditor Deloitte has issued a warning over whether Rangers can continue operating as a going concern, should they fail to win promotion.

Deloitte also raised concerns over Craig Whyte’s legal battle for the club, falling attendances and the team’s recent performances on the park.

Details of the concerns were published in the club’s accounts for the year ending June, 2014. The report shows that The Rangers Football Club Ltd (TRFCL), recorded a loss of £8.1 million - a 54per cent drop on the previous year (£17.6 million).

The report, published annually and signed by chairman David Somers, says there would be significant impact to the ‘operating profit’ should Rangers not gain promotion.
