Photographer Pete Summers captured the vibrant light show when it appeared for just a few minutes across the bay in the early hours of Tuesday.

Taken at Hopeman beach, Moray, Pete managed to snap a couple of pictures of the natural wonder before the sky once again clouded over.

“It was quite tricky because the cloud was coming in quite fast. They weren’t that strong then it clouded over. It only lasted 10 or 15 minutes or so.

“They’re probably not the best I’ve seen but I got them none the less.”

Pete’s pictures show the bright green colours reflected in the rock pools at the beach at around 12.30am.

He added: “I’m quite pleased with them.”
