“It will give me an opportunity to perform tracks from my latest album, ‘Get Up’, as well as some of my earlier classics.

“It’s going to be a special show, performing outdoors in Montrose. I hope my Scottish fans are able to join me.”

Bryan Adams released his latest studio album ‘Get Up’ in October to much acclaim. It was produced by famed ELO frontman Jeff Lynne and features nine new songs and four acoustic versions.

The outdoor show next summer is being organised in partnership between concert promoter LCC Live and the Montrose Music Festival (MoFest).

The announcement comes after the news last week that Jools Holland will be headlining MoFest next May.

David Paton, chairman of MoFest, said: “Each year the Montrose Music Festival thrives to bring big names and legendary musicians to Angus.

“This year, in addition to Jools Holland who is the headline act of the Montrose Music Festival, we’re delighted to welcome Bryan Adams for a one-off show in August at the East Links.

“Bryan Adams is an amazing musician and we can’t wait to welcome him to Montrose.”

LCC Live’s director, Les Kidger, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing Bryan Adams to Montrose for his only Scottish outdoor show next year.

“We expect tickets to sell fast, which is testament to his reputation as one of the world’s most loved pop stars.”

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday priced from £49, and are available to buy online at www.ticketline.co.uk or by ‘phone on 0844 888 9991.
