2m shares in Rangers sold for £830k
Earlier this week Laxey Partners increased its stake in Rangers to 4.99 per cent after more than two million shares were purchased.
The Isle of Man-based investment firm had previously agreed to buy former chief executive Charles Green’s shares, once he is permitted to sell them in December, a year after the club was floated on the stock exchange.

Hide AdGreen could face another exit from an official post at Ibrox when the Rangers board meets next Tuesday to discuss his recent appointment as a consultant. In a statement issued on Wednesday night, his successor Craig Mather said: “While I understand and appreciate fully the feelings of supporters who have issued a statement calling for action and a resolution this week, I want to assure everyone that the issue will be addressed on Tuesday. It was necessary and vitally important that I spend time in London this week meeting institutional investors along with finance director Brian Stockbridge. Because of that and the unavailability of other directors, the board meeting cannot be held until next week.”
