The lockdown period has also got many people back into gaming, with Animal Crossing proving particularly popular after its release on Nintendo Switch in March.

And now players with a keen eye for detail can earn money as interior designers for the game.

What does the job involve?

Online homeware brand Olivia’s has launched the world’s first Animal Crossing interior design service, allowing people to earn money as a virtual interior design consultant.

The consultants will provide professional advice when hired by other players looking to improve the interiors of their in-game homes.

The role involves providing creative feedback to clients and suggesting ideas on improving their home within their budget, explaining the reasoning behind your choices.

Consultants will be tasked with creating multiple designs for each client should they desire a redesign in the future.

What skills do I need?

To be successful, applicants must have a working knowledge of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and be confident with working remotely.

Strong communication skills are a must and some experience of interior design is beneficial, but not essential.

If successful, consultants will be paid upwards of £40 per hour for their services, but will be able to set their own rates and work flexibly.

If this sounds like your dream role, you can apply by filling out on an online application form.

How do I hire a design consultant?

If you are a huge fan of Animal Crossing but struggling to make your virtual abode look and feel like home, you can hire a design consultant to do the hard work for you.

Through Olivia’s new online service, gamers can arrange a visitation to their Animal Crossing home with a design consultant, who will visit their home in the game and advise on what does and doesn’t work with their current setup.

The consultant will suggest real time solutions to help bring your property to life within budget, transforming the space into a luxury digital retreat.

Consultations will last around an hour and gamers will be given their consultant’s contact details in case they would like to arrange a follow up visit.

If you’re in need of a little help making your perfect virtual home, you can hire a design consultant by registering your interest online.
