Finding the perfect gift for that someone special on Valentine’s Day can be a bit of a minefield, particularly if you want to shun the traditional bouquet of flowers.
Sometimes the simplest of gifts are the best of all - and what better way to show you love someone than with food?
A heart-shaped delight
In celebration of the most romantic day of the year, Morrisons has launched some heart-shaped doughnuts in the lead up to Friday 14 February.
The sugary treats are filled with juicy raspberry jam and finished with a light dusting of icing sugar.
The doughnuts are being sold in packs of two for just £1, making it a sweet Valentine’s Day gift that won’t break the bank. The supermarket’s regular round doughnuts are priced at £1.65 each, meaning shoppers can bag a bargain with the heart-shaped pack of two.

Romantic food ideas
Other food outlets have hopped on the Valentine’s Day food themed band wagon, with Krispy Kreme also selling some heart-shaped treats in honour of 14 February.
The popular chain is selling three different heart-shaped doughnuts this year, which are currently available on a buy one get one free offer at Tesco, via Hot Deals UK.
The three flavours include:
A chocolate and hazelnut nutty chocolatta heart, filled with Nutella and dipped in a rich chocolate icing, sprinkled with hazelnut chunks.
A white chocolate berry heart, with a strawberry and white chocolate filling, dipped in white chocolate icing and coated in berry pieces.
A dark chocolate mint heart, covered in dark chocolate icing and mint sugar nibs, with a mint chocolate filling.
And for those looking for something more savoury this Valentine’s Day, Asda is selling a giant love heart-shaped sausage for £3.70.
The dish comprises four sausages which have been crafted into the shape of a love heart, and includes the flavours of thyme, sage nutmeg and cayenne pepper. Shoppers can also get their hands on the meaty treat as part of Asda’s three for £10 offer.
