A new fashion line has been launched to fight the stigma surrounding periods.
The “I’m On” campaign, launched by subscription period pamper service Pink Parcel, includes a range of t-shirts and sweaters which feature period positive slogans such as “I’m on cloud nine” and “I’m on. Period.” to encourage women to talk openly, and honestly, about their periods.
“I’m on” is a commonly used phrase amongst women to discreetly say when discuss periods but the new fashion line aims to rebrand the phrase to give it a more positive message.
Fighting stigma of menstruation
Pink Parcel said the new clothing line is in response to period shaming.
The limited edition tops range from £19.99 to £29.99 and from sizes XS to XXL.
The period subscription service said that for every top sold £5.00 will be donated to Bloody Good Period – a charity which provides menstrual products to refugees, asylum seekers and to those who can’t afford them.
The t-shirts and sweatshirts have been produced as part of a collaboration between Pink Parcel and a four ‘influences’: British fashion designer and industry icon, Olivia Rubin; founder of Style Me Sunday, style influencer and activist, Natalie Lee; and journalists and co-hosts of pop-culture and current affairs podcast, The High Low Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes.
