Orange Twirls are coming back - here’s how to get one before they go on general sale

Cadbury fans can look forward to a new indulgence next month, as the popular Orange Twirl is to make its return to supermarket shelves.

The zesty flavour proved to be a hit among chocolate lovers when it was launched as a limited edition product last September, leaving many unable to track one down.

Boxes of the bars were even being sold for hundreds of pounds on eBay, as shoppers struggled to get their hands on the treat in stores.

But those who were left disappointed last year will have a better chance of finding the orange flavour this time around, as Cadbury is launching an official pre-sale before the treats even reach the shops.

10,000 sold online

Cadbury is launching an official Orange Twirl pre-sale online this week, with 5,000 of the bars being put on sale on Tuesday 18 August.

Those who miss out will have another chance to bag one a couple of days later, as a further 5,000 are to be sold online on Thursday 20 August.

The pre-sale is being held on the official Cadbury UK Twitter page. To secure a place in the queue, fans simply need to tweet Cadbury with the hashtag #TwirlOrangePresale when it goes live at 12pm on Tuesday (18 Aug). The first 5,000 people to do this will then be granted access to the pre-sale.

These lucky fans will then be sent a unique, single-use redemption code with which to claim their Orange Twirl bar. Customers are limited to just one bar each, but Cadbury has teased that fans will get some surprise “collectible” to go with their order.

The same process will then run again on Thursday (20 Aug).

When will Orange Twirls be in shops?

Orange Twirls are expected to be available in shops from mid-September, although Cadbury is yet to confirm an official date.

The bars will cost 69p online, but Cadbury has said it will not be charging postage. In stores, shops are able to set their own prices, with the sweets selling for between 50p and 60p last year at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
