Legal history as mum faces killing charge

Luton: A mother was set to appear in court today as the first person to be charged under a new law which closed a legal loophole allowing parents of a murdered child to escape justice by blaming each other.

Hayley Kenny, 22, was charged with "familial homicide" after her son Keiron, two, was found seriously injured at home. Keiron's stepfather, Craig Pearce, 21, is charged with murder.

Somerset: Archaeologists have uncovered hundreds of Bronze Age tools at a construction site. Some 800 pieces were found at the former hunting site that was in use 4000 years ago.
