Zip in for a colliery thrill

DAREDEVILS can zipslide from the top of the head frame of the Lady Victoria Colliery in Newtongrange and raise money for leukaemia charity, Anthony Nolan Trust.

The fundraiser will take participants 700 feet in just 15 seconds, with spectacular views from the top of the frame before they set off.

No experience is necessary for the challenge on August 29, with skilled instructors on hand at the colliery, which is now the Scottish Mining Museum. Participants must be 13 or over and weigh less than 17 stone.
