Youth Games get off to a flying start

Pupils from James Gillespie's High School help launch the Edinburgh Airport Youth Games.

The event will be held on May 12 at Meadowbank Sports Centre and other Edinburgh Leisure venues, with 1733 children due to take part.

Edinburgh Leisure chief executive John Comiskey said: "Encouraging the participation of children in all sporting events is a great opportunity for them to try new activities, get active and have fun. The Youth Games encourages children of all abilities to discover their potential."
