Your vote can swing it for playpark

A CITY playground has been shortlisted for the chance to win a renovation bursary of up to £15,000 as part of a drive to protect outdoor play.

The St Margaret's Park playground in Corstorphine was chosen from more than 1000 entries to become a finalist in the Parents for Playgrounds campaign organised by drinks brand Robinsons Fruit Shoot.

Parents from across the UK were asked to nominate playgrounds for the chance of winning one of five bursaries.

Mum-of-one Angie Dickson, who nominated the Corstorphine playground, said: "My little one loves playing outside but at the moment our playground is looking very tired and run down. If it received the 15,000 bursary it would make such a difference by giving our children a fun and stimulating place to play."

Parents have until the end of the month to canvas as many votes as possible for St Margaret's Park on www.readyforten.com in order to ensure that it becomes one of the top five winning playgrounds.

The playgrounds with the most votes will be renovated and ready for play at the beginning of the summer holidays.
