Youngsters have a brush with science

PUPILS from Craigentinny Primary School were celebrating the 2011 International Year of Chemistry by making some fizzing potions and colourful concoctions, as they helped launch the latest addition to the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

Youngsters Corey Reid, Aliesha Hogg, Ryan Borthwick and Caleb Gaunt watched the Elephant's Toothpaste experiment, the sort of trial that will be taken to schools across Scotland as part of the festival's Fizz, Boom, Bang workshops.
