Young workers rake in £1,000 a year

NEARLY one in ten children is earning almost £1,000 a year through formal and informal jobs, new research has shown.

About 9 per cent of children aged eight to 15 have a part-time job, bringing in an average of 17.93 a week, or 932.36 a year, according to Halifax. Some 43 per cent of them do a paper round, while 18 per cent work in a shop and 16 per cent wash cars.
