Young movie-makers take to the red carpet

THE Oscars may be over for this year, but the red carpet was rolled out for the young makers of four short films shown in the city on Saturday.

The event was the culmination of 18 months' work by 90 filmmakers, aged from 11 to 18, organised by Edinburgh-based charity Scottish Kids are Making Movies (SKAMM).

Films shown at the Centre for the Moving Image on Lothian Road included Jack Morning-Newton's coming-of -age tale Easier As A Spaceman and Julian Joseph's comedy Operation Hell's Watchmen.
