Young driver who died after tree crash named

A YOUNG man who died after his car struck a kerb and crashed into a tree has been named as Jamie McLaughlin.

The 21-year-old from Craigshill in Livingston was driving his red Peugeot 206 north along the B8046 road, between Ecclesmachan and Threemiletown near Linlithgow, at around 9pm on Saturday when he collided with the kerb and left the road before striking a tree.

He was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he died from his injuries.
