Yorkshire pud seeks EU food protection

YORKSHIRE pudding makers could win the same protection afforded to Champagne and Parma ham producers to stop rivals cashing in on the name.

The European Union-set status could mean the Sunday roast favourites would have to be made within Yorkshire or Humberside if they are to be labelled as such.
