Year-round festivals call

THE boss of a leading architecture office in the Capital has called for Edinburgh to become "a city that never rests", with festivals spread throughout the year.

Martin Bates, director of Broadway Malyan in Edinburgh, said spreading events out through the year would help improve the city.

"It would be great to develop Edinburgh as a city that never rests by stretching out all the individual festivals," he said. "This would mean arts groups aren't fighting for a finite audience."
