Yacht through Panama Canal

THE Edinburgh Inspiring Capital yachting team has completed its transit through the Panama Canal as part of the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race.

The city crew, one of ten teams competing in the world’s longest ocean race, completed the latest challenging leg of the journey on Thursday afternoon.

Yesterday the teambegan the 2100-mile race to New York.

The Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race began in Southampton on July 31 last year, and will end there on July 22 after 51 weeks, 40,000 miles and 15 stops on six continents.
