Writers in morgue contest

THE cream of the world’s crime and thriller writers are to compete for the dubious honour of having a new morgue and mortuary research facility named after them.

The ten leading crime writers, including Scots Stuart McBride and Val McDermid, are backing a campaign to help raise £1 million for a new state-of-the-art morgue at Dundee University’s world-renowned Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification, which is set to revolutionise the study of anatomy and forensic science in the UK.

Dundee University is inviting crime fans to pledge £1 towards its “Million for a Morgue” campaign by voting on a website for their favourite author.
