Zimbabwe’s lack of water ‘a disaster’

The Roman Catholic Church said Zimbabwe’s chronic water shortages should be declared a national disaster.

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace said collapsed water and sanitation facilities would cause “more suffering and deaths” as annual rains begin.

Nearly 250 cases of the water-borne disease typhoid have been treated in the capital, Harare, this month.
