Zanzibar vows stern action over ferry

ZANZIBAR has promised stern punishment for those responsible for overloading a ferry that capsized off the coast, killing nearly 200 people.

Minister of state Mohamed Aboud Mohamed said yesterday there were 619 survivors – meaning the boat was carrying 200 people too many.
