Work starts on Dumb and Dumber sequel

Production has begun on ‘Dumb and Dumber To’, starring original leads Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, as the sequel to the 1994 smash hit prepares for release next year.

The movie, directed by Farrelly brothers Peter and Bobby, will see Carrey and Daniels reprise their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, two dim-witted travellers whose lack of understanding lands them in a series of dangerous situations.

The first film helped launch Carrey’s career and establish him as a firm favourite among comedy fans, but a 2003 prequel - Dumb and Dumberer - starring younger actors was universally panned by fans and critics alike.

Kathleen Turner will appear as old flame Fraida Feltcher, a woman with whom Dunne and Christmas both share a history.

There is also a rumoured return cameo for former ice hockey star Cam Neely as Sea Bass, a red neck trucker who bullied the pair in the original film.
