US missile kills four in Pakistan

SUSPECTED US missiles killed four people on the Pakistani side of the Afghan border, the sixth such strike in the militant-held area in just over a week.

It happened in North Waziristan, stronghold of an Afghan Taleban group linked to al-Qaeda. Its members are responsible for cross-border attacks on American troops and could have played a part in the 30 December attack that killed seven CIA employees.

Pakistani intelligence officials said a pair of missiles hit a house and a vehicle in a village near Miran Shah. They said four people died and three were hurt.
