US firm to sell Loch Ness Monster soup ladle

AN American firm is seeking to appeal to conspiracy theorists the world over - by selling a soup ladle designed as Nessie.

The Nessie ladle, designed by Ototo for New York firm Animi Causa, is on sale for $15.99 - about £10.50 - and is due to be released in February.

However, demand is high for the product, and the firm is currently ‘accepting only back orders for late May’.

The design of the turquoise ladle allows ‘Nessie’ to stand upright without falling over, thanks to the functional ‘feet’ attached to it.

Nessie joins a host of quirky kitchen utensils designed by Ototo, which translates as ‘little brother’ in Japanese.

The firm’s designs include a deer-shaped cookie cutter, an apple corer shaped like an arrow (William Tell anyone?) and the ‘Tea Sub’ - a submarine-shaped device that allows tea leaves to be submerged to the bottom of a cup.
