Uganda short of cash as aid cut

UGANDA’S budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year will fall short by 6.2 per cent – the equivalent of about £161 million – due to aid cuts by donors over corruption, the government has said.

At least five western countries, including Britain, suspended aid after officials in the prime minister’s office were accused of embezzling £8m meant for reconstruction.
