U2 guitarist The Edge falls off the edge of stage

LOOKS like U2 guitarist The Edge ended up stuck in a moment he couldn’t get out of - after falling off the stage during a live gig.

The Irish band were performing at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on the first leg of their Innocence and Experience tour, when The Edge - real name Dave Evans - fell off a section of walkway at the 19,000-capacity arena.

The 53-year-old appeared to lose his footing before crashing off the stage in front of shocked fans during the performance of I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.

U2 worked their way through an extensive setlist featuring songs such as Sunday Bloody Sunday, Sweetest Thing, Where the Streets Have No Name and Vertigo.

The Edge later posted a photo via the band’s Instagram account of what appears to be his grazed arm, in which he said: “Didn’t see the edge, I’m ok!!”

In 1983, Bono fell during a gig in Germany attempting to climb a barrier and in 1987, dislocated his arm after he slipped off a rain-soaked stage in Washington DC.

And at a 2001 gig in Miami, the frontman fell backwards off the stage.

In November 2014, Bono fractured his eye socket, shoulder blade and hand as well as breaking his arm in six separate places in a freak bicycle accident in New York.

Someone who attended the gig posted on Twitter that the musician’s tumble had ‘looked worse than it was’.
