Two held over toddler’s death

CHINESE police have arrested two drivers suspected of running over a toddler who died a week after she was struck on a busy market street and ignored by passers-by.

The death of two-year-old Wang Yue in the southern city of Foshan gained widespread media coverage and prompted soul-searching in China over declining morality and callousness toward the sufferings of others.

The accident, on 13 October, was captured by security camera footage. Eighteen people walked or cycled by the bleeding child.
