Tamils want war report inquiry

Sri Lankan Tamils have called for an inquiry into events during the final stages of the country’s civil war, criticising a report that cleared government forces of targeting civilians.

MPs in the Tamil National Alliance said the report by the government-appointed Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission was a “serious assault” upon the dignity of those war victims who had testified before it.
