Students and unions plan day of action

Chile’s union and student leaders hope to shut down the nation’s economy for a day in response to a police crackdown on education reform protests that resulted in more than 250 arrests and left 30 people injured.

Student leader Camila Vallejo said the government set police free to attack peaceful marchers in violation of the constitution.
