Stroke–victim poet takes top honour

Sweden’s most famous living poet Tomas Transtromer has won the Nobel prize for literature, more than 20 years after a stroke severely limited his speech and movement.

The 80-year-old was honoured for surreal poetry, which turned darker asince his stroke in 1990.
