Sherpa, 40, dies at Everest base camp

A SHERPA who had climbed Mount Everest at least ten times, died at base camp yesterday of altitude sickness.

Karsang Namgyal, 40, is the first death of the spring climbing season. Base camp is at 17,380ft, almost 2,000ft below the 29,002ft summit.
