‘Scottish’ WWE wrestler Roddy Piper dies, age 61


His body was discovered on Friday, July 31 at his home in Hollywood, California, after he passed away in his sleep.
Despite being born in raised in Canada, Piper was billed throughout most of his professional career as hailing from ‘Glasgow, Scotland’ due to his ancestral history.

Hide AdHe often wore a kilt and had bagpipe music accompany his entrance into the wrestling ring.
Piper was a star of the wrestling world during the 1980s and 1990s. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
The same year he survived a car crash and later won a battle with cancer after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
He is survived by his wife Kitty and their four children.
