Saudi prince’s £12.5m Disneyland graduation bash

A SAUDI prince has splashed out £12.5 million on three days of fun at Disneyland Paris.

Prince Fahd al-Saud booked entire areas of the park for his 60 guests to celebrate being awarded his university degree, the theme park has revealed.

The 21-year-old royal booked a private show of “rare Disney characters” during the party, from 22 to 24 May.

He is the son of the late Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz al-Saud, who was one of the wealthiest men in the oil-rich Islamic kingdom.

His mother is Princess Maha al-Sudairi, who is famed for her lavish spending sprees and has left a trail of massive unpaid bills in France. A year ago, she was caught ordering her 60 staff to load scores of suitcases into a fleet of limos outside Paris’s luxury Shangri-La hotel at 3am to flee a £6m bill.

She had checked into the hotel six months earlier, taking over an entire 41-room floor.

Police were called but could not arrest her due to her diplomatic immunity, so she simply moved to the five-star Royal Monceau Hotel, owned by family friend the Emir of Qatar.

She left France a month later and is now being pursued through the courts for her debt.

Special security was put in place for the prince, one of the park’s top customers, Disney said yesterday. The Paris park attracted 16 million visitors last year, but it has not turned a profit since it was set up 20 years ago.
