Road crash causes carnage in Kyoto

A MINIVAN ran through a road junction and struck pedestrians in one of Japan’s most crowded tourists spots.

The accident claimed eight lives and injured another eight in Kyoto’s geisha district, which was packed with visitors and cherry blossom viewers.
