RAF attacks Libyan targets

RAF fighters have carried out a series of strikes on targets in Libya as Nato seeks to tighten the noose on Colonel Gaddafi’s regime, the Ministry of Defence said yesterday.

RAF patrols destroyed a command centre at Zlitan and a commando base at Sabratah that was said to have been used by Gaddafi’s forces to launch a series of reprisal attacks against the local population.

Another patrol took out a tug boat that had been commandeered by regime troops fighting at the oil refinery at the coastal town of Zawiyah in an attempt to redeploy to new positions.
